Seth Harp for Insurance Commissioner is looking for eager, enthusiastic, goal-oriented individuals looking to further their knowledge of politics, statewide campaigns and our great state of Georgia. Interns/Volunteers with Seth Harp for Insurance Commissioner will get a unique opportunity to work closely with staffers and other volunteers all over the state as the General Primary quickly approaches. Responsibilities range from answering/making calls and writing correspondence to attending events and representing Seth Harp for Insurance Commissioner at events and fundraisers all over the state.

The ideal intern is proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, as well as PowerPoint. Interns/Volunteers need to be well organized, have excellent reading and writing skills, and be motivated to help push our campaign to the next level, the General Election in November! Course credit will be awarded when appropriate/approved by institution beginning with the summer 2010 semester.

Eric Johnson Internship (updated 3/03/10)

Eric Johnson for Governor is seeking motivated students looking to get involved with a fast-paced and high-profile gubernatorial campaign. Opportunities are available for the spring and summer 2010 semesters. Interns will have the opportunity to see the inner workings of a statewide race and play an important role in the operations of the campaign while gaining hands-on experience.

We are looking for hard working, self-motivated young people who are willing to take on important responsibilities and contribute to an exciting campaign. We accept students of all majors who are interested in politics, government, finance or media. The internship is unpaid. Students are eligible to receive college credit. The campaign is currently looking for motivated individuals who are enrolled in school who can commit at least 20 hours per week. Individuals would be working closely with senior staff, attending events, and implementing strategy.

Who can apply:
· Currently enrolled students of any major, political science or communications a plus
· Students who are ready to work hard, make an impact, and be part of a winning campaign team
· Previous work experience, volunteer experience or campaign experience is a plus

Are you looking to gain some experience on state wide campaign? Are you a team player with a sense humor? If so, then this might be the internship for you. The Gerry Purcell Campaign is looking for interns (part-time and full-time) to begin working this May or June.

Duties include research, administrative functions, helping out with fundraising, managing new media, staffing events on your own as well as with staff and candidate and a variety of duties that are essential to the campaign.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong writing and communications skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks with an attention to detail and be well organized, have a strong work ethic, and possess a positive attitude. Wanted: Energetic, hard-working interns seeking to gain political experience and knowledge through a campaign internship. American Seniors Association Internship (posted 9/22/09)

Conservative advocacy organization looking to fill 4-6 internship positions immediately. The term of these intern positions are to be determined but flexible. These positions are non-paying but will afford the participants the opportunity to gain significant political experience in the areas of grass roots volunteer program development, constituent services, platform campaigning, media scheduling, public relations. There will also be a chance to obtain experience writing press release drafts, action alerts and material for websites and blogs. Members of this intern team will also lay groundwork for congressional relations and may become a contact point for elected officials.

Qualities wanted in an Intern:
· High energy
· Computer proficient- must be comfortable with most standard Microsoft application (windows, word, outlook/email applications,some publisher knowledge desired but not required for most positions.
· Excellent personal skills and phone etiquette
· Great writing skills
· Outgoing personality
· Willing to listen to constituents
· Great research skills
· Some campaign/political skills desired but not required. If you are looking to gain experience that you do not have, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Wanted:
· At least one Technical intern to help with web design and management, creation of both online and printed tools. Knowledge of publisher applications key, Knowledge of sharepoint good but not crucial, must be willing to learn. This person will help to update our website, Ning account and manage blogs, twitter, town hall forums etc.
· One intern with some policy experience or education. Must be willing to become very familiar with current health care debate as well as Medicare, social security and tax issues.

Governor's Office Internship

There are differing requirements depending on the position. Internships are part-time positions which usually last anywhere from 3-4 months depending on the time of year. Interns may decide whether they want to receive academic credit or a stipend, depending entirely on their preference. Internships are usually restricted to juniors and seniors, but we may be able to work something out if there is someone younger who is interested. Fellowships are 6 months in length and are available to those who have graduated within the past year. Also, it is a full-time position where they will receive a greater stipend.

An applicant for either position- internship or fellowship- may find themselves in one of the following departments: policy, legislative affairs, communications, health, constituent services, executive appointments, or OPB.
